변수 하나에 흔들리는 ‘롤러코스피’…외인도 15거래일간 50조 내던졌다 |
코스피가 널뛰기 장세를 보인 배경에는 미국과 이란의 지정학적 노이즈 재확대로 인해 유가가 장중 4%대 급등하고 국내외 시장금리 상승 부담이 높아진 영향이 작용했다. 특히 최근 국내 증시에서 반도체를 중심으로 급등했던 쏠림 현상 부작용도 컸다. 올해 들어 코스피 불장이 이어지면서 리스크 요인이 발생만 하면 시장이 급격하게 타격을 받는 점은 문제로 지적된다. 코스피와 코스닥이 각각 4%대, 5%대 급락하던 시점에 일본 닛케이지수, 대만 자취엔지수 등은 1% 하락에 그쳤다. 한지영 키움증권 연구원은 “전쟁 리스크나 금리 상승 부담 영향보다는 역대급 쏠림 현상에 따른 부작용이라는 국내 고유의 요인이 더 크게 영향을 주고 있다”며 “이익·밸류에이션 등 기존 상승 재료에는 별 다른 이상 요인이 발생하지 않는 환경 속에서 발생한 만큼 단기 숨고르기 과정의 일환으로 보는게 맞다”고 밝혔다.
이런 상황에서 외국인은 이날만 유가증권 시장에서 2조 8870억 원을 팔아치우며 15거래일 연속 순매도 행보를 이어가고 있다. 이 기간 팔아치운 규모만도 49조 8535억 원에 달했다. 올해 3월 35조 8806억 원을 순매도할 때보다 훨씬 규모가 크다. 이는 이달 개인이 41조 8831억 원어치를 순매수한 것과 상반된 행보다. 개인은 이날 3조 6329억 원어치를 사들이며 8100선을 회복하는 데 기여했다.
전문가들은 외국인의 매도 우위가 이어진 배경으로 ‘차익 실현’에 유리한 환경이 갖춰진 점에 주목하고 있다. 특히 중동 전쟁 리스크가 이달 초보다 다소 완화된 상황에서도 외국인이 순매도에 나선 것은 기존 포트폴리오 재정비를 통한 차익 실현 목적이 현재로서는 가장 유의미하다는 분석이다. 특히 한국뿐만 아니라 미국 증시 역시 반도체주가 견인한다는 점에서 실적이나 주가 하락 우려감은 깔려 있지 않다는 판단이 깔려있다.
UBS는 앞서 미국 메모리반도체 제조사 마이크론테크놀로지의 목표 주가를 535달러에서 3배 수준인 1625달러로 상향 조정했다. 삼성전자는 이날 전 거래일보다 2.44% 하락해 29만 9500원에 거래를 마쳤지만 올 들어 상승률은 150%를 기록했다. 전장보다 2.05% 올라 228만 9000원에 장을 마감한 SK하이닉스의 상승률은 무려 252%다. 지난해 삼성전자와 SK하이닉스를 산 외국인이라면 ‘저점매수 →주가 상승에 따른 차익실현’을 마다할 이유가 없다는 평가가 나오는 이유다.
